Limited edition ADOM Boxed Set now available

I finally broke in and added two new pledge levels to the ADOM crowd funding campaign:
  1. Master of Thieves
  2. Avatar of Thieves.
These allow you to become the owner of a highly limited boxed set edition of ADOM Classic with true collectors items that never again will be available. Including the ADOM Lite RPG.

I'll probably curse myself for the extra effort this will be but you asked for it and here it is. Read all the details and become a donor for the Master Thief pledge level or the Avatar of Thieves pledge level to receive the loot.

I just hope that more than one or two people pick up the Master Of Thieves level as otherwise writing the ADOM Lite RPG really will become a pain ;-) But as I talked so much about a closure for ADOM Classic in the past it just seemed appropriate to add some special to get that promise done, too ;-)

(now goes praying for lots of pledges to move the campaign forward)

  1. "Shipping within Germany is free, add $10 for shipping within Germany, $20 for shipping within Europe and $40 for the rest of the world". So, is it free or is it $10?

  2. Making them not included in and not including other levels is off-putting. Why shouldn't the avatar get the Lord rewards for instance?

    1. Ok, I agree on the point for the Avatar. For the Master Thief I'm just trying to balance efforts with gains. Considering your reasonable thoughts I'm again starting to wonder if it was a good idea at all as the effort required to get that stuff together (plus the amazing shipping costs) really doesn't make it very attractive as far as I am concerned.

    2. Adjusted for the Avatar level.

  3. Ok, I adjusted both pledge levels completely. Thanks for the feedback.

  4. "(comes with an NDA forbidding distribution or usage; this is for research-only, sorry)."

What does "research only" mean? That one can't even compile it? That one must do "research" on the code instead of just keeping it around as a trophy?

    1. No, it will be ok for local usage. I "just" don't want anyone to derive new games from it or distribute the sources. Local compilation is research as far as I am concerned ;-) But I'll try to phrase that more precisely.

  5. So there is going to be an RPG, but I need to spend $440 to get it? Any chance of a PDF being available at a lower level?

    1. I have been thinking about it. Personally I'm not very happy with the whole pricing structure but I failed to come up with a better idea. You pay the huge amount of money for all the benefits of the earlier levels plus the limited edition box (which includes the RPG).

I'm really torn about the RPG... it's a lot of work to write such a thing and on one hand I'd prefer to spend that time working on ADOM... on the other hand it's a cool price.

I guess that - if nobody goes for that pledge level within the next seven days or so (which I could understand) - I'll yank it again and try to think of something else.

  6. You found a vendor for the boxes at a reasonable price? That's great. I keep hoping and hoping more people will donate. Been upgrading with each paycheck I get. I get paid again on Tuesday, I'll have to upgrade then.

Also: What is a "hand tuned" D20?
