Let the regular blog updates commence!

Greetings ADOM fans! Krys here, also known as Ravenmore. I'm Lead Artist on Team ADOM, which means I direct a talented team of artists consisting of myself....yeah. I know.

I'd like to take a minute to explain our new blog schedule planned for 2017.

Spell animations

Right now Team ADOM is heavily working on adding animations for spell casting. Krys had this awesome idea of adding spell sigils to the animation effects and while I do not want to share the animated glory yet, here's a preview of the sigils to be used:

The magic of ADOM

Hi everyone! Today was yet another of those days when Jochen, Krys and Zeno really surprise (nay, overwhelm) me with their ingenuity. They have been fiddling with the magic stuff for a while now but today I saw the first animated results… and personally I'm blown away.

While I have been convinced for a while now that ADOM currently sports the most beautiful tile set of all roguelike games IMHO it now starts to have the most beautiful magic animations, too.

I dreamed of the JADE SFX & animation system...

By which I mean the system required in order to visualize spell effects (bolts, missiles, explosions) and other missiles. JADE currently does not yet have any code infrastructure for that but tonight I really envisioned it while sleeping. Sometimes I am amazed - I love my subconscious for doing my work while I rest ;-). Here we go with some details:
