Crowd proofreading for the ADOM Lite RPG?

As I mentioned in another post I dearly want to finish ADOM Lite RPG this year… as the year is sadly pretty short by now I have been wondering if I should be doing a crowd proofreading approach. I could do one blog post per double page and collect feedback in the comments.

What do you think?

  1. It sounds like a good idea, but would publishing (essentially) the entire RPG on your blog pages discourage people from paying for it?

    1. Actually I'd only post the buggy (not proofread) version and probably without images. So you'd not get the final version.

  2. That's the beauty part, we've already paid!!

I think it's a great idea. I'd certainly contribute to the effort.

  3. I'd be quite happy to help with proofreading. I can't guarantee I'll catch everything, though, so the crowd idea might be a good idea. Just be prepared for the images to be compiled into a PDF and spread all over the internet, because somebody will undoubtedly do it.

    1. I have no problems with a compiled buggy PDF collection without images. IMHO this does not devalue the actual print edition ;-)

  4. There's some issue with being ripped off, yes, but I'd be more than happy to proofread it. I'm good at that sort of thing.

  5. Please do, i have crowdfunded (kickstarted) quite a few literary projects, and i'm disapointed at how bad the editing is. So i'd be willing to do quite a bit to improve that...

  6. This is a great idea. If you'd prefer a single proofreader (maybe so people don't steal your stuff) then I would gladly do it. Or maybe myself and a few others could proofread X amount of pages each, to speed things up.
