ADOM: The Resurrection - The project flowchart

Today I finally spent another couple of hours to reorganize and finish the flowchart for the ADOM: The Resurrection project. Here it is in its full glory.

EDIT: As Blogger prevented me to insert links in full size you can download the chart in full size here (select the "File" menu and then "Download").

(BTW, white means "not yet started", the green gradient indicates "in progress" and solid green is "finished")

If I missed anything or you detect problems or errors, let me know ;-)

  1. The only problem I detect so far is that part of the flowchart is way too small to be readable. (e.g. what is that between "Create project flowchart" and "ADOM: The Resurrection party" in the top left corner?)

    1. Download the .png file and open it with your favourite image viewer, then zoom in. Works quite alright ;)

    2. Alas, not for me. I tried opening it with both Konqueror and Firefox, and it was very difficult to read both zoomed and at normal size.

@Thomas: Thanks, this way it looks great.

  3. Seeing all the work you have to do makes me wish I lived in Germany so I could come hang out on the weekends and give you a hand with it all. I could write addresses on postcards or work on spreadsheets to organize information for you. If you can get me a job at Quinscape I'll head over there and help you on my days off!

Also you'd have to teach me German. I sent you a postcard in my German during the campaign. You may not have been able to comprehend it. My German is pretty bad.

  4. Flowcharts are not really a great idea, because they're really hard to write and just as hard to read. Something like a plaintext list would have been better visually. It's not really complicated enough to need a flowchart.

    1. Sorry, I disagree. And mostly this flowchart is for me to keep all the details in mind.

  5. I think in a previous post, you asked for essential features from ADOM Sage? Decided to post here just so it would be noticed.

I've been playing the most recent public release (1.2.0pre3). Either I'm missing something, or the game desperately needs a way to adjust keybindings. Playing on a laptop is simply unfeasible, and most people have laptops these days. With the original builds there was a cfg file for it.

Also, some means to resize the font -- usually this is accomplished by creating a shortcut and adjusting the console font with the r-click menu, but for some reason it's unavailable for ADOM (works fine with DoomRL).

    I'm running Vista 32bit.

    1. this topic of laptop keys comes up quite frequently.
      for example http://www.adom.de/forums/showthread.php/1202-Keyboard-Customization
just go to the adom-directory (with your savegames) and edit your configs in a text-editor.
as for font-size, you can start a command-prompt window, then change the font and window-size, and then start some dos-version of adom there. just make sure this screen-size stays the same whenever you load the savegame.

  6. Keybinding adjustments can be done by editing the adom.kbd file, BTW :-)
