Weekly Development Update


Short recap of the week :) We're picking up tempo and the dev repository is firing up with daily changes. Let's shed some light about what's going on.

Build system. The idea is to have closed test releases as often as possible, preferably whenever a batch of changes is pushed to our "more-or-less-stable" development branch. Nightly builds anyone?

Also interfaces, mostly main menu stuff. And a lot of less glorious but incredibly important cleanup work, like removing unused code, assets etc.

Interface assets/prototypes.  Also the seemingly endless quest to finalize animations, including some incredibly controversial*** Karmic Being discussions.

As a bonus - illustration work, like final touches to some donor rewards and pushing the ADOM splash art just a little bit for fun ;)

The rest of the team busy behind the scenes with Stuff We Don't Want To Share Just Yet (SWDWTSJY just rolls of the tongue, eh?). Some great updates are on the way :)

  1. Quite a controversial conversation we had about karmic beings. I'm glad we came to a conclusion :p

    Do you think we will be able to see or hear about these changes (not the stuff you don't want to share)? I know there is bugs and errors in the Issue management on the forums that need to be addressed, and I'm sure people would appreciate hearing if those issues have been looked at.

    Also nightly builds sound awesome

    1. - Definitely more posts with detailed changes. It's a bit of a transitional period right now so you'll have to bear with me vaguely waving my arms around saing it's all good.
      It's all good, btw.

      - We're keeping a close eye on the issue list. What gets fixed depends on who's available at the moment. For a lot of the gameplay related issues input from The Man Himself is required. So whan that's not possible we focus on backend, UI and presentation stuff.
