While I continue to work on the new boss monsters I'd like to point you to a new tile sample... enjoy!
(And yes: I totally believe they rock!!!)

  1. Gorgeous. I especially like the ChAoS creatures. I imagined WMoPCs to be bigger though.

Apart from music, are we going to get basic sound effects on stuff like hitting, missing, etc.?

    1. Not sure how doable it is but it would be neat if WMoPCs would tile up nicely if there are many next to each other. That would give an impression of whole floor crawling towards you instead of individual creatures. :)

    2. Personally I love the idea :) But not likely to happen due to time constraints and some fundamental design problems (it would be the only monster to completely obscure items and features beneath it, among other stuff. We try to be consistent with these things).

Certainly worth some thought though, if time permits :)

About sound effects, to the best of my knowledge short answer is : yes there will be sound effects and ambience as well :)

  2. When tiles were first being mentioned, I was very firmly in the "why would I ever want to use those?" camp, but the more I see of them, the more I'm starting to change my mind.

  3. f**KING awesome!!! With such tileset and addictive adom gameplay you've came close to become ultimately best rogulike of modern era! Predict huge success!

  4. Well, seems this could become the best looking roguelike ever. :)

  5. I hope that the truly scary monsters are truly scary.

I'm looking at you Steel Golems, Diamond/Eternium Golems, various types of Molochs, Balors, Liches and other stuff :)

  6. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to make sprites for each of the different individual unique artifacts and equipment variables, but on the other hand, I can also see the benefits putting that much effort into it could be.

Any comments on the feasibility of such ideas, and your plans as to how exhaustive the art will be at launch?

    1. Every monster item and artifact is planned to have its own unique sprite at launch, that much is certain :)

  9. Since a lot of boss monsters and statues are being added to the game, will it be possible to customize their tiles on an individual basis (e.g., by changing a specific statue tile without changing all of them)? In that case, it would be nice if donors could use the self service portal to submit tiles that fit the description of their statue/boss monster, if they want to.

  11. So, this looks awesome. I'm kicking myself for not keeping track of your fundraising efforts, because I totally would have contributed. Can I get in on the prereleases even though the indygogo campaign has ended?
