ADOM II merchandising shop opened

ADOM II logo

Today I am happy to announce the opening of the ADOM II merchandising shop. The great response to Krzysztof Dycha's logo design across all channels and some requests for merchandising stuff tempted me to try Cafepress as the host for the online shop. This is a first for me and I have taken all care possible to take Cafepress's technical specifications into account - thus I hope you will enjoy the stuff in the shop.

I know there are requests for some items not yet featured (e.g. a Drakalor Chain poster map) - these things will be added over time.

If you have more ideas or wishes post them here or mail me at creator(at)ancientdomainsofmystery.com.

The next thing I am going to consider is a T-shirt line with funny short texts related to ADOM as well as stuff with the ADOM logo. Again suggestions are welcome as long as you fully understand that I might be going to use them without planning to compensate you for the ideas - except by releasing new ADOM & ADOM II software ;-)

The proceeds from then shop (after deducting Cafepress expenses - I'm probably not going to get rich on this stuff ;-) ) will be used for future ADOM & ADOM II endeavors (e.g. hiring a professional blogger template designer for the new design - there sadly has been no response so far).

Have fun - I'm now going to order some stuff myself ;-)

  1. Wnile I really like the logo, the perspective just looks wrong when it's on a T-shirt or a hat. The mugs kind of work, but most everything else looks weird.

    1. Agreed. That logo does not really fit t-shirts. At all.

    2. I don't think it's that bad. the problem is that isometric view, is not a apropriate logo to use on a t-shirt.

  2. I still like the idea of eventually releasing a special double-sided map which has the main Drakalor overland map on one side, and a secret treasure map on the reverse, which reveals the route to a hidden location containing an artifact of moderate usefulness. (sort of a Phial of Caladriel v2.0)

Of course, the more complicated you made the quest the better, especially if you need to use the map itself in clever ways to get there (ie: hold it up to a window to find the starting point on the main map and/or fold it like a Mad Magazine fold-in to reveal the true path).

You could also add several cryptic hints around the edges designed to guide the map holder past several 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'-style tests of faith and cunning that stand between them and the holy artifact.

  3. Don't want to sound cheap, but is this actually how much a T-shirt cost in Germany(?) these days? I remember being in Vienna not that long ago, and I bought myself a nice logo-ed T-shirt for 10E. This is how much I would normally be required to pay for one here (Poland).

    1. No; CafePress is made-on-demand, which means the cost per unit is best measured in number of orifices you'd like to pay through.

On the other hand, the last T-shirt I got was a souvenir from Vegas, and that was 10USD for 5. (1.61euros each, according to Google.) Cheap and mass-produced!

  4. I definitely like the variety of the merchandise, though I'm going to probably have to wait 'til fall to get financial aid to pay for a t-shirt. Hopefully There might be a t-shirt available for original adom by then? adom II logo is badass, but I would like the simplicity of the plain text of adom. Maybe something along the lines of,

    ADOM
You are likely to be eaten by a grue

  6. Where are the ADOM II postcards?

  7. No postcards available from Cafepress and yes, donating is preferred. But maybe some folks also like physical returns ;-)

And at least it allows me to order marketing stuff for myself ;-)
